Giovanni De Leon is a 2022 LHP with a 5-6 148 lb. frame from Dedham, MA who attends The Winchendon. Recorded a 7.31 sixty-yard dash time. Primary left-handed pitcher with a small, slender frame and room to fill out and mature. Energetic delivery with lots of hand movements pre-pitch, creating deception for opposing hitters. Incorporates drop and drive lower half movements and slight lean back at the top of the motion that causes some tendency to leave pitches up in the zone. Fastball worked in the upper-60s for most of his outing, topping out at 72 mph from a 3/4's arm slot. Mixed in developing breaking ball that varied in shape that will continue to improve with mechanical refinements and additional arm speed. Developing command of strike zone with two-pitch mix with lots of effort and moving parts to delivery. Can make improvements with proper adjustments to delivery and additional strength.
