Brad Ballard is a 2024 C/3B with a 5-11 170 lb. frame from Danville, CA who attends Monte Vista. Medium height with an athletic frame that can hold easy weight. Ran a 7.41 in the sixty yard dash. A primary catcher, stays low and gains ground with repeatable foot work. Clean exchange and popped a 2.14 during drills. Also worked out on the infield, showing good body control and on line throws across the diamond, actions play on the corner. A right-handed hitter, starts balanced and in line with a leg lift to load on the back side. Lower hand set that pre sets the plane and he stays behind and inside the ball during his turn. Stays in the zone with his barrel with a slightly up hill path that provides natural lift. A secondary pitcher, worked exclusively from the stretch with a high leg lift and online landing foot. Works down the slope with a full arm circle and high 3/4 release. Solid feel for the fastball and curveball to the outer half of the plate. Excellent student.
