Ryan Phillips is a 2022 1B/RHP with a 6-3 230 lb. frame from Schaumburg, IL who attends Schaumburg. Recorded a 7.62 second 60 yard dash time. Large frame, thick and sturdy build with present strength. Primary first baseman, fields it deep, allowing the ball to get on him. Developing feel for the glove, max effort thrower with a long arm action, recorded throws at 84 mph. Secondary right-handed pitcher with a long arm action that gets offline in the back. Big leg lift above the belt with drop and drive lower half mechanics, limited fluidity in the motion. Throws an 11/5 curveball with great tilt and depth, late breaking pitch that he could throw in any count and land it. Flashed a changeup with cut action to it, moved the fastball around and threw it over both edges. Was not afraid to challenge inside, showed good feel for the curveball. Right-handed hitter with a wide base and quick leg lift, tends to rush to get the foot down at times. Aggressive and high intent swinger, has strong hands and present bat speed. Arms are a bit stiff, gets extended and shows power potential. Great student.
