2023 Mid-Atlantic Indoor Showcase (Saturday)
Stephen Devanney is a 2024 RHP/1B, 3B with a 6-2 185 lb. frame from Pitman, NJ who attends Pitman. Classic pitchers build, long and lean with good projection and plenty of room to continue to add muscularity. Ran the 60 yard dash in 7.31 seconds. Primary position RHP, working exclusively from the stretch and 1B side of the rubber. Stationary hands at the belt to start and then breaks mid-chest into one piece arm action and 3/4 arm angle. Gets down the slope well and continues to ride into front leg. Emerging overall command of the zone with FB that peaked at 76 mph showing sinking action. Subtle break to his SL to go with solid mid-60's CH with tumbling movement. Secondary IF, moving methodically through reps and showing nice ability to throw from any angle. Has solid glove skills too. RHH working from wider base, high back elbow and hands tight to the body. Toe tap trigger for timing and attacks the ball from a bit of a steep angle. Showed ample hand speed, just needs to be more consistent from a timing standpoint. Outstanding student.
