2021 Great Lakes Prospect Showcase
Yuhki Yamada is a 2023 SS/2B with a 5-5 135 lb. frame from Palatine, IL who attends Wm Fremd. He has a smaller frame with a slender body and plenty of physical maturity left in him. Ran the sixty yard dash in 7.09 seconds. Primary short stop that has active feet that are clean and in the proper position. He showed soft hands and a good feel for the glove that translated into game action. He works through his throws and has a long throwing motion. Right-handed hitter that starts in an even base an and upright stance with high hands and a high back elbow. He uses a simple pick and replace stride for timing and does a nice job of working his weight through the swing. He has a downhill swing path that creates backspin on line drives when he is on time and makes contact out in front of the plate. He does a nice job of utilizing the whole field. Very good student. Named to the Great Lakes Prospect Top Prospect List.
