Alexander Owen is a 2022 LHP/1B/OF with a 6-0 190 lb. frame from Saint Johns, MI who attends St. Johns. Solid medium frame with some strength. Ran a 7.58 60-yard dash. Primary LHP with an above the belt leg kick, medium stride down the mound and a three-quarter arm slot. Fastball sat 80-85 with some downhill plane and arm side run. Breaking ball is a curve which showed inconsistent shape, when he spins it best it's a 1-7 shape pitch with significant biting action and depth. When the spin efficiency isn't there it turns into a slurvy type pitch with more sweeping action. Developing strike throwing ability with a solid two-pitch combo that should allow him to have success at the next level. As an outfielder he showed an aggressive approach to the ball, choppy steps breaking it down, carries some momentum though to throw where he shows some above average arm strength. Hit from a upright and slightly closed stance, downward launch position, and a more strength based swing with developing feel for the barrel. Named to Indianapolis Indoor Top Prospect list.
