Diego Diaz is a 2021 2B/SS with a 5-9 140 lb. frame from Las Cruces, NM who attends Mayfield HS. Diego is a solid athlete who shows outstanding effort that he unquestionably uses to his advantage on the diamond. He is shows the same type of dedication in the classroom as evidenced by his academic record to date. he is a try-hard guy who's energy level is contagious and noticeable. He ran an 8.03 60 yard dash. A primary middle infielder, Diego shows plus average ability with the glove. His feet work well and he transitions consistently, His 72 mph velocity enables his throws to shows routine carry and accuracy. At the plate, Diego is a contact-first hitter. He uses the strength in his hands to get is barrel to and through contact routinely well. Although he is not a big power threat, he will move the ball around the diamond, using the entire field. More than anything, one has to appreciate Diego's energy level and his passion for the game.
