Tyler Sobocinski is a 2024 LHP/OF with a 5-9 130 lb. frame from Saint Paul, MN who attends Cretin Derham Hall. Recorded a 7.87 second 60 yard dash time. Small and slender build with plenty of physical development remaining. Primary left-handed pitcher with simple and repeatable mechanics, keeps a good line with the plate and comes from a high three-quarters slot. Drop and drive lower half mechanics, stiff actions at present, fastball shows arm side run at times. Did a nice job of mixing speeds and keeping hitters off balance. Throws a breaker with some sweeping action and bend, keeps its shape well. Also flashed a floating changeup that he can throw to both sides. The off speed has some swing and miss potential down the road as he continues to develop. Moves it around and has a good idea of how to pitch, developing arm strength at present, has a great chance to improve as he continues to grow. Secondary outfielder with a passive approach, fields it off to the side and away from his body. Long arm action and throwing motion, throws across his body from a lower slot. Left-handed hitter with a wide base and relaxed stance. Knee to knee trigger with a long swing path, front side tends to fly open as he pulls off the ball at times. Limited extension and bat speed at present, will improve as he gets stronger. Excellent student.
