Matthew Thomas is a 2022 RHP/1B, OF with a 6-3 185 lb. frame from Salt Lake City, UT who attends Highland. Large frame with slender, projectable build; ran 60 yard dash in 7.23 seconds. Primary arm, full overhead side step delivery, tall at gather, loose arm stroke to 3/4 slot, pitches downhill, fastball worked 76-80 mph with good plane, showed curveball with gradual depth, did a nice job throwing strikes. Hits from even-based, upright stance with loose hand path, length to stroke, shows some strength off barrel at times, whole field approach. Worked out in the outfield, fields cleanly and repeats actions well, balanced to throwing position, clocked up to 79 mph on throws, some whip to the arm. Very good student.
