Robert Melendez is a 2023 RHP/2B with a 5-8 170 lb. frame from Ladera Ranch, CA who attends Laguna Hills. Medium frame with a compact, stocky type build. Ran a 8.04 second sixty yard dash. Primary Right-Handed Pitcher, working with a quick side-step to a belt high leg lift with a pointed lead foot. Full arm action in the back and then does a good job staying direct to the dish. Releases from an uphill angle. Ran the fastball up to 73 mph. Mixed in an 11-to-5 moving breaking ball and fading changeup as well. Right-Handed Hitter, starting spread out with active hands. Weight gets on backside and stays there as he works into a slightly uphill swing path. Opposite field approach and created some loud contact when he squared it up. Outstanding Student.
