Luis Fernandez is a 2021 C/RHP/IF/OF with a 6-1 205 lb. frame from Los Angeles, CA who attends Edward R. Roybal Learning Center. Solid build athlete, showed off some well developed tools with a great foundation to build on. Primary catcher, good receiver with soft hands and a clean transition. Arm strength projects, put some good throws on the bag with consistent mechanics. Lower half is strong, footwork is there but can get more out of it. Right handed hitter, some present strength from the big body, understands the zone and covers it well. Put on a loud round, ball jumps off the barrel. Very quick barrel whip and controls it. Toe tap trigger is on time, gains good ground and creates separation. Really ran into the ball and flashed some intriguing power potential.
