Jaylen Ziegler is a 2022 OF/UT with a 5-10 160 lb. frame from Urbandale, IA who attends Urbandale. Recorded a 6.93 second 60 yard dash time, his speed really plays on the base paths and in the outfield. Gets great jumps and can steal bases with ease. Medium frame with a lean and athletic build, plenty of room to fill with a great chance to add strength. Primary outfielder with plenty of quickness and agility in his game, fields off the front foot and comes through it well. Slightly uphill thrower with a long arm action, has very long levers with developing arm strength, will improve the carry of his throws as he gets them lower and on a line. Has sound defensive actions and can really cover a lot of ground in the outfield, shows natural instincts and good reads in game action. Right-handed hitter with a narrow and slightly open stance, utilizes a simple leg lift trigger. Compact operation overall with great lower half drive, swings on a slightly uphill path. Has plenty of loft to the stroke to go along with noticeable bat speed, the barrel really whips through the zone. Intriguing athlete that projects well on both sides of the ball. Great student.
