David Cruz is a 2021 SS/RHP, 2B with a 6-0 158 lb. frame from Long Beach, CA who attends Method Schools. Medium slender build with room to still fill out as he develops. Primary shortstop, fields out in front and glove works well to his forehand side. Shows some accuracy across the diamond. On the mound, has a longer arm action from a high three-quarters arm slot. Lifts then has a hump in his motion as his hands lift up before separating. Good direction down the hill. Mixes in a high 11-to-5 shaped curveball with a large overall shape. Shows an ability to drop it in for a strike. At the plate, uses a wide and conventional looking stance with a pronated front foot. Low leg kick trigger with an uphill barrel plane through the zone. Looks to get the barrel head out, middle to pull side approach. Good student in the classroom as well.
