Dallas Slayton is a 2022 1B/LHP, OF with a 5-8 165 lb. frame from Wildomar, CA who attends Elsinore. Medium, broad shouldered frame with present strength proportioned throughout. Ran a 7.78 60-yard dash. Primary first baseman, fields the ball out front, works into a shorter arm action on throws across diamond, developing footwork away from the bag. Also pitched, similar short arm action through the back working to a high three-quarters release point; fastball topped out at 74 mph, inconsistent release point but flashed short running life when working to arm side, mixed a curveball up to 59 mph with 12-6 shape. Righthanded hitter, begins with a high hand set and back elbow at the plate. Drifts to front side moving into contact but stays short to the ball, swings with intent and shows strength in hands. Loads hands back at start of swing, comfort working to his pull side, shows jump when squared and on time. Good student.
