David Distefano is a 2024 1B/RHP, 3B with a 6-3 180 lb. frame from Janesville, WI who attends Janesville Craig High School. Recorded a 7.78 second sixty-yard dash time. Long, lean frame with a high waist and plenty of room to add strength. Primary first baseman with anticipatory footwork into the fielding process, fielding slightly deep and working into a longer throwing motion. Displayed some present athleticism on his turns, ranging to either side fairly well and displaying accurate throws across the diamond. Recorded arm strength up to 66 mph in defensive drills. Secondary right-handed pitcher with a fairly simple delivery, pounding the strike zone often with is two-pitch mix and garnering tons of weak contact throughout his outing. Simple, repeatable mechanics with short arm circle on the backside, while working into a three-quarters arm slot. Fastball worked in the low-70s for the duration of his outing, topping out at 73 mph in this look with command to both halves of the plate. Fastball has some sinking action to it, pairing well with his short, late breaking curveball that flashed potential. Projectable frame with a ton of upside and more velocity in the tank. Will continue to improve as he gains more strength and gets consistent with his arm stroke. Right-handed hitter that hits from a even based stance with lower hand set and small stride out to launch. Middle-of-the field approach with slightly downward swing plane and occasional low launched line drive to the gaps. Solid bat-to-ball skills that will continue to improve with proper swing adjustments and additional strength. Excellent Student.
