Cameron Hailstone is a 2021 SS/RHP/IF with a 6-0 175 lb. frame from Gillespie, IL who attends Gillespie. Medium frame with a slender build and room to fill out. Ran a 7.80 second 60-yard dash. Worked out defensively as a primary shortstop. Stays light on feet and moves well to both sides. Fields out front and into transitions. Compact action in the back and into a three-quarter release. Still developing arm strength across the diamond topping out at 75 miles per hour. Righthanded hitter with an upright and open stance to start. Utilizes a short leg lift trigger for timing with a deep hand load. Gets into a line drive plane and looks to create backspin and get the ball in the air. Simple swing mechanics with a middle of the field approach. Found the barrel with some consistency. Secondary righthanded pitcher with a short step delivery into a medium leg lift to the belt. Gets lower half turned well while staying in line to the plate. Creates some running action on the fastball topping out at 75 miles per hour. With drop slot some to get around the slider and able to land it for strikes. Excellent student as well.
