Dominic Jones is a 2023 OF/RHP, MIF with a 5-10 140 lb. frame from Umatilla, FL who attends Mount Dora Christian Academy. As a secondary pitcher on the mound his long frame stood out as he worked his fastball up to 82 mph. Really attacked the zone with the fastball as he showed a long arm swing and good spin rate on the fastball. Had a lot of swing and miss up in the zone. In the infield he has solid fundamentals and stands out as he glides to the baseball with firm throws across the diamond, really solid looking coming in. In the outfield his athleticism shows through again as he rounds the ball well and stays behind it through his motion for strong accurate throws. In the box he starts slightly open and works downhill with his hands in a very simple, repeatable swing. More separation with the hands will be beneficial but showed ability to go to all fields with a line drive approach. Good student.
