Garrett Shearer is a 2023 RHP/IF with a 6-2 200 lb. frame from O Fallon, IL who attends St. Louis University HS. Strong athletic build with room to get stronger. Works out of the stretch with a compact low 3/4's arm stroke and release slot, has energy at release and creates some deception. Fastball topped out at 87 mph, gets big running action into right handed hitters. Curveball was a very good second pitch with power and deep 11/5 shape, significant bit and tightness. Very tough at-bat especially for right handers especially when he's landing both pitches. Reliever profile but solid present stuff with the potential for more. Good student. Named to the National Indoor Showcase Top Prospect List.
