Brandon Parks is a 2020 1B/LHP with a 5-11 175 lb. frame from Hampton, VA who attends Bethel High School. medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and a lean, projectable build with room to fill, has present strength to frame. Ran a 5.26 40-yard dash. Primary first baseman, fields the ball out front and shows glove skills, slight bend at waist, quick exchange out of the glove, nice balance to actions and footwork off the bag, accurate throws across the diamond to intended base. Also pitched, simple side step into delivery with a high leg lift above belt; full arm action through the back working to a high three-quarters release point. Creates angle on fastball and topped out at 79 mph, shows sinking action at bottom of zone. Flashed curveball at 68 mph with 1-7 and downward life. Lefthanded hitter, begins with a slightly open stance and medium hand set; simple swing and mechanics with limited moving parts, easy to repeat. Stays short to the ball and works out front at point of contact, shows strength off the barrel when squared and comfort working the middle and pull side parts of the field. Good student.
