Blake Allen is a 2020 3B/RHP, 2B with a 6-2 173 lb. frame from Campbellsville, KY who attends Campbellsville. Medium frame with long limbs and wiry strength. Frame projects to support additional strength. Primary third baseman with clean, smooth paced footwork while ranging for and rounding the baseball. Funnels out front and worked through exchange with loose actions. Released from a three-quarters slot generating on line carry to the bag at 79 miles per hour. Right handed hitter with an slightly crouched, even stance and simple leg lift trigger. Created some linear shift into contact with lower half. Hands work to a lower position prior to launch and work through extension on an uphill plane. Flashed solid feel for the barrel and created solid carry to each gap when squared. Also pitched utilizing a simple side step to medium leg lift delivery. Stays tall at gather and works to the plate with drop and drive actions. Clean arm circle at take back and released from a three-quarters slot. Fastball showed some downhill plane through the zone in the upper 70's, topped at 79 miles per hour. Curveball had 11/5 shape with solid spin and some depth. Generated sharper 11/5 shape when maintaining arm speed through extension. Consistently attacked the strike zone and induced weaker contact. Excellent student as well.
