John (Jack) Gammer is a 2018 RHP/OF with a 6-1 185 lb. frame from Franklin, TN who attends Fred J Page HS. Medium frame with long limbs and wiry strength. Projects for additional strength. Primary right handed pitcher with a quick paced side step to medium leg lift delivery. Hid baseball well at take back and released from a three-quarters arm slot. Fastball jumped on hitters well flashed some running action to arm side in the mid to upper 70's, topped at 79 miles per hour. Released slider from similar arm action created 9/4 shape with tight spin in the upper 60's. Also flashed a changeup offering with slight sink. Consistently attacked the bottom of the zone and showed good feel for each off speed pitch. Also worked out defensively from the outfield showing smooth paced footwork while closing to the baseball. Clean glove actions while working through the baseball. Released from a three-quarters slot generating some on line carry to the bag at 76 miles per hour. Right handed hitter with an upright, open stance and high back elbow set. Works to contact with rotational lower half actions. Hands slide to a slightly lower launching position creating an uphill barrel plane through extension. Primarily worked to the middle of the field and opposite field gap flashing some jump off the barrel when squared. Very good student as well.
