Andrew Alamat is a 2017 1B/ with a 6-2 260 lb. frame from Brighton, MI who attends Milford. Large frame with a solid build and some present strength throughout. Primary first baseman with short, fundamental footwork while surrounding the baseball. Long arm cirlce at separation and releases with a loose arm action, topped at 63 mph. Throws produced some carry across the infield and to second base with accuracy. Showed soft hands while receiving throws at the bag. Left handed hitter with a slightly open stance, high hand set and simple stride. Lower half launches to contact with slight rotational actions producing occasional shift. Hands launch on a loose, inside path to contact creating a line drive swing plane through extension. Primarily showed a mid-field approach throughout batting practice. Generated some jump to the gaps when attacking baseball out front and turning barrel.
