2017 Mid-Atlantic Underclass Showcase
Joe Morin is a 2019 RHP/3B, OF with a 6-1 180 lb. frame from Paramus, NJ who attends Bergen Catholic. Large athletic frame with long limbs and present strength to frame; additional room to fill throughout moving forward. Ran a 7.90 60-yard dash. Primary righthanded pitcher, shows a quick delivery on the mound with a high leg lift up past belt, incorporates lower half well and creates extension out front at release. Medium arm stroke through the back working to a mid three-quarters release point. Generates natural arm side life to fastball and topped out at 83 mph while showing ability to work both sides of the plate. Repeats delivery and mixed curveball well with 11-5 shape, shows bite at 70 mph with depth. Filled zone and missed bats throughout time on mound. Glove works out front in the infield and plays at the ball well, shows arm strength and throws across the diamond to first base. Lefthanded hitter, begins with a high back elbow in the box and utilizes a short leg lift trigger for timing at the plate. Works with a middle of the field approach and gets the barrel to the ball; full swing path with a linear plane through the zone. Named to Mid-Atlantic Underclass Top Prospect List. Very good student.
