Caleb Champion is a 2021 C/RHP, 2B, OF with a 5-11 180 lb. frame from Albertville, AL who attends Albertville. Medium and stocky frame with some strength in his lower half. Ran a 7.33 second 60 yard dash. Primary catcher, comes out of his crouch with a short stride, transfer flashes quickness when working into his throw downs, quick arm stroke, young arm strength currently while reaching over his front side into release, will improve arm strength and accuracy with refinement to lower half. Secondary righthanded pitcher, deceptive delivery taking his arm back to a compact arm action up to a 3/4 arm slot at release, hides the baseball well through the back, fastball topped out at 73 mph with frequent life, mixes in an 11-to-5 curveball with developing spin. Also took reps in the outfield during the event, moves quickly to the baseball, utilizes a similar arm action as behind the plate, topped out at 79 mph from the outfield. Righthanded hitter, sets up at the plate with an even base, compact stroke taking a downhill plane to swing path, creates some bat speed and projects well moving forward, middle of the field approach.
