John Combs II is a 2021 C/3B, UT with a 6-0 200 lb. frame from Spring City, TN who attends Rhea County. Medium and sturdy frame. Ran a 7.68 second 60 yard dash. Primary catcher, sets up behind the plate in a side saddle starting position, takes a longer arm action into throws with raw mechanics behind the plate, flashed a strong arm with carry to the second base bag, 2.00 second best pop time. Secondary third baseman, worked out in the infield with young actions and a strong lower half, quick to the ball and works through it fast, long arm action into throws with average arm strength across the diamond. Righthanded hitter, uses a toe tap trigger into contact with developing use of his lower half, bars back at load, torques some while hitting behind the baseball. Outstanding student.
