Matthew Sox is a 2017 RHP/SS with a 6-2 170 lb. frame from La Canada, CA who attends La Canada HS. Medium-large frame with slender, athletic present build and very good room remaining on body to fill out. Ran 60 yard dash in 7.39 seconds. Sets up to hit with high hand set, balanced stance square to the plate, leg kick trigger, rotational in torso with strength in swing, has balance throughout mechanics. Has power to opposite field, jumps it well off the barrel when squared up. Smooth footwork in the infield, has range side to side with athleticism, fields cleanly to forehand and backhand, gets off quick release with good arm strength across the diamond up to 82 MPH. Pitched as well, solid arm speed to high 3/4 arm slot, FB worked 80-83 MPH with some run to arm side. Hides ball well and has deception. Changeup shows fading action, flashed CB with 11/5 shape and good depth. Very good student.
