William Cheatham is a 2018 1B/OF with a 6-2 180 lb. frame from Brooklyn, NY who attends Fiorello H Laguardia High School Of Music. Large frame with long, projectable build; ran 60 yard dash in 6.77 seconds. Hits from even-based stance with relaxed set, high hands and back elbow, looseness to hands on line drive swing plane, hip tends to fly open and take him off plane, shows good bat speed, has strength, good projectable hitting tools. Primary first baseman, good hands with athleticism around the bag, turns well, clocked up to 80 mph on throws. Also took defensive reps in the outfield, comes in on the ball well and fields cleanly though does halt momentum some, long drawn out arm stroke, clocked up to 83 mph. Very good student, named to 2018 Sunshine Northeast Top Prospect List.
