Joseph Holguin is a 2016 OF with a 5-8 155 lb. frame from Phoenix, AZ who attends Horizon HS. Medium, athletic frame with slender present build and good projectable room to fill out remaining. Ran 60 yard dash in 7.31 seconds. Hits from very open stance, front foot is very open as well, spread out with small stride into contact. Hands set tight to body, opposite-field approach with inside-out swing plane, shows willingness and ability to hit the ball to the opposite field consistently. Solid overall contact ability. Worked out defensively in the outfield. Moves well to the ball with efficient routes and footwork, shows athleticism in fielding actions, works through well and gathers cleanly. Extended release on throws, pulls it down well and shows quality arm strength, OF velocity clocked up to 81 MPH. Very good student.
