Cole Coffey is a 2017 1B with a 5-11 180 lb. frame from Castro Valley, CA who attends Castro Valley HS. Medium athletic build, has some present strength with room for more. Polished defensive actions at first base, stays balanced and has good footwork, made some nice game picks. Right handed hitter, gets to his front side early, upper half rotational swing, has some strength and swings hard, good level swing path, can develop more bat speed and power potential with more lower half use, handles the barrel well and makes consistent contact. Sound fundamental player who should keep improving. Good student.
