Daniel Carmona is a 2019 LHP/1B with a 5-11 178 lb. frame from Houston, TX who attends Lutheran South Academy. Medium build with the beginnings of some present strength. Works from the stretch with a long stride out front, body slows down into release, high 3/4's arm stroke, arm works well before it decelerates into release. Fastball topped out at 76 mph mostly straight with occasional arm side running action, throws lots of strikes with his fastball. Curveball has some shape and bite when thrown at higher velocities. Left handed hitter, hits from a wide base with a high hand set, middle of the field line drive approach, swings hard. 7.50 runner, has clean actions at first base defensively and plays below the ball well, makes accurate throws. Very good student.
