Matt White is a 2007 LHP/1B with a 6'4'', 225 lb. frame from Bellingham MA, who attends Bellingham HS. He has a big frame and solid build with very good present strength. White throws from a high 3/4's arm slot with a clean arm action. He throws a bit across his body with lots of effort at release, which will affect his command and consistency but maintains a good downhill plane to the plate. White's fastball was 81-84 mph and got on hitters well. His breaking ball was a slow 63 mph curveball that had a big, consistent break and was effective getting hitters off balance. He also threw a 74 mph change up. White mixed up his pitches and had some pitchability. He also plays first base when not on the mound and showed good agility and mobility around the first base bag on defense. White hits from an upright stance at the plate and has a power type of swing with some bat speed and loft potential. He is a good student and has committed to Rollins University.
