Mark Young is a 2008 RHP/3B with a 6'3'', 193 lb. frame from Jacksonville, FL who attends Bartram Trail HS. He has a nice tall athletic build and some present strength. Young has a rotational delivery with lots of moving parts, including a big stabbing action in back. His delivery leads to lots of different release points across the whole spectrum, most of them random. Young's fastball was up to 82 mph but varied in velocity like his release points, as did his command. His breaking ball was a twisty low 70's slider that had fair spin and some bite. He threw a split finger type change up that worked pretty well on occasion. Young's development as a pitcher all depends on gaining consistency with his delivery and smoothing out the rough edges. Young used his strength well has a hitter and showed good bat speed and extension through the ball. He is a very good student.
