Matthew Tomfohrde is a 2027 C/RHP, 1B, OF with a 6-0 180 lb. frame from Hinsdale, IL who attends Hinsdale Central. A taller frame with strength that shows, having room to keep adding more. Higher-set waist. Projectable build. Ran a 7.26 60-yard dash. Worked out as an outfielder who moved well during his round with a good approach, showing energy throughout the round. He fields the ball off the front foot and shuffles into his release. Had quickness pulling down his throws from a higher slot. Used a shorter release throwing 81 mph from the outfield. A right-handed hitter with an upright stance and medium base. He stayed short to the ball with plenty of quickness in the hands to stay compact with his stroke. He was looking to pull during his round of BP swings and was able to do so. Balanced operation. Used a toe tap trigger for timing and then rotating hard through contact with a two-handed finish. Produced 78 mph exit velocity during PG Tech testing.
