Zachary McKenzie is a 2027 1B/LHP/OF with a 6-0 135 lb. frame from Elm City, NC who attends Greenfield. Tall and lean current frame with good projection and plenty of time and room to add muscularity. Ran the 60 yard dash in 7.31 seconds. Primary position 1B, with solid fundamental actions around the bag. Emerging glove work that will become more fluid with time and reps. Throws across the diamond up to 65 mph on the bags. Secondary LHP, using full windup slightly offset from the 3B side of the bag. Big leg lift to the letters with nice rhythm and breaks hands early at the waist to medium inline path before transition down the mound. Works vertically over his front side nicely to create his arm speed. FB peaked at 68 mph with natural cutting action and SL in the low-60s with sweeping horizontal action that performed well. Nice projection on the bump. RHH starting wide and turned in, using heel lift trigger and high handset. Flashed some hand quickness and worked on downward plane to contact. Will project more power with strength and getting on plane sooner with pitch. Did nice job in game hitting the ball the other way. Young all around athlete with nice two-way potential to follow.
