2023 13U/14U Atlantic Coast Prospect Showcase
Brayden Simpson is a 2027 SS/RHP/2B with a 5-8 145 lb. frame from Spartanburg, SC who attends Broome High School. Good frame with some twitchy athleticism and more to come from a physicality standpoint. Ran the 60 yard dash in an exceptional 6.54 seconds. Primary position OF, with excellent first step quickness and good feel for his routes. Uses big crow hop after midline transfer with short inline arm path. Throws were on line and accurate up to 74 mph. Reps on the IF as well, with more basic mechanics here but making plays. Showed his true athleticism on the slow roller that he played very nicely. Also time on the mound with the standard full delivery and same compact arm action accelerating through a 3/4 arm action. Rotational operation creating cutting action on the FB and flipped a two-plane breaking ball in there as well. LHH starting even with a good handset using a small leg lift to get moving. Direct, on plane path with hands to impact and there is strength there. Has all the components to be a real offensive threat and the foot speed never slumps. Loud set of tools for his class, outstanding student. He is a definite prospect to follow closely. Named to the 13U/14U Atlantic Coast Prospect Showcase Top Prospect List.
