Michael (MT) Jones is a 2024 UT/1B with a 5-11 140 lb. frame from Monmouth, IL. Medium, slender build with room to add weigh and muscle. At the plate starts in a traditional balanced, slightly open stance with hands close to his body. Employed a middle approach in his BP round squaring up half the reps. Current gap power. Defensively, used proper foot/glove mechanics but could benefit from being more aggressive through the ball. Has a unique throwing motion. Ball tailed on him at times. On the mound; has a long arm-action out of a 3/4 arm slo. Jones needs to develop more arm strength to challenge hitters. Clocked a 7.7 60-yard dash. Excellent student.
