Joey Rosa is a 2024 1B/RHP, 3B, OF with a 6-0 170 lb. frame from Carolina, PR who attends Carlos Beltran Baseball Academy. Medium, square shouldered frame with long limbs and room to fill throughout moving forward. Ran a 7.79 60-yard dash. Primary first baseman, fields the ball out front and glove skills plays, shows a quick release on throws across the diamond while demonstrating sound fundamentals and a feel for actions around and away from the bag. Fluid actions in the outfield as well, deliberate tempo to release and can quicken moving forward, carry on throws will continue to develop with additional lower half implemented into his actions. Also pitched, side step moving into delivery with leg lift up to belt; shorter arm action through the back, worked around the zone and had a quick inning of work. Fastball topped out at 79 mph, mostly true in life, pitched to contact and mixed a curveball up to 62 mph. Right-handed hitter, begins with a narrow and upright stance, utilizes a simple stride moving into contact. Loose swing path through the zone with some fluidity, bat speed will continue to develop with added strength, works inside the ball and shows comfort connecting to the pull side. Occasionally opens front side early, shows carry off of the barrel when squared. Very good student.
