Michael Mulkey is a 2020 3B/RHP/1B with a 6-4 190 lb. frame from Palos Verdes Estates, CA who attends Palos Verdes. Extra large frame with long limbs and a high waist. Square shoulders with present strength in build. Ran a 7.56 second 60-yard dash. Worked out defensively as a primary third baseman. Sits back while fielding out in front with a funnel in. Clean hands through field and into exchanges. Developing accuracy with carry to the bag at 84 MPH. Righthanded hitter with an upright and narrow stance. Utilizes a hanging leg lift trigger for timing. Linear actions onto the front side and into contact. Shows strength in hands at the point of contact. Works the ball gap to gap. Secondary righthanded pitcher with a side step delivery into a leg lift to the belt. Lands in line down the mound with slight drop and drive actions to the plate. Compact arm action in the back and into a high three-quarter arm slot. Creates solid downhill angle on the fastball at 83 MPH. Mixes in both a curveball down in the zone as well as a slider with looser spin. Changeup was a solid option as well with sinking life through the zone. Repeats actions well and is smooth with mechanics. Projects well on the mound. Good student as well. Named to the 2019 SoCal Prospect Showcase Top Prospect List.
