Kelvin Almonte is a 2025 SS/2B with a 6-1 180 lb. frame from Yonkers, NY who attends Inwood Early College. Lean, good looking athlete with some current muscularity and the type of frame to really add to over time. Primary position IF, moving with ease on his feet and creating good angles on his plays. Glove work is smooth and accurate as he secures the ball with ease. Shorter arm action that created throws up to 80 mph across the diamond with accuracy and also showed the ability to throw from varying slots. Has a real feel for what he's doing on the clay. RHH working from an upright and open stance, using a high handset tight to his body. Coils into his back hip to load initially and really turns with conviction in his midsection. Super loud impact with regularity as his short stroke delivered the barrel with authority. Gap to gap approach with high level barrel control. Still a lot of projection here as he fills out and the gap power will turn into home run power quickly. High level offensive player to follow closely in the coming months. Good student.
