17u BCS Scout Notes: Day 4

James Nesta (2024, Huntersville, N.C.) took the mound for South Charlotte Panthers 2024 Marucci. He’s a right-handed pitcher with a medium frame and strength in the build. Nesta lifts the leg above the belt and works down the mound with a fluid move, throwing from a three-quarters arm slot. The fastball worked 86-89 mph early on and held the mid-80s for the extent of his outing. The slider had a higher tilt to it and also flashed a 12-6 shaped curveball with great depth to it. The two breaking balls worked the mid-70s (CB) and the upper-70s (SL), respectively. The Oklahoma Sooners commit is a two-sport athlete committed to play football and baseball. He threw 2 and 1/3  innings, with 2 hits, 2 walks, and 3 strikeouts, without allowing an earned run.
