14u World Series Scout Notes: Day 1 | Days 2-3

Dean Moss (2025, Atherton, Calif.) has been impressive all week, but the ability to drive the ball to all fields really shined when the playoffs began. Moss had multiple balls that he drove to the left side of the field with some purpose, including a ground-rule double that one-hopped over the left field wall. Moss has proven himself to be one of the stronger hitters at this age and he continues establish that here at the World Series.
 
If you are an opposing pitcher, Everett Johnson (2025, Youngsville, N.C.) is not the baserunner you want to see out the corner of your eye. Johnson has been a nightmare to deal with on base in this tournament, something that has been commonplace at the World Series. He reached base five times on the opening day of the playoffs and wreaked havoc once he was there. Errant pick-off throws and stolen base attempts led to him scoring multiple times. Johnson has been the table-setter at the top of the lineup for Canes National, and has done a fantastic job setting them up for the success they are having here.
