Robert Evans (2022, Bronx, N.Y.) has doubled up on back-to-back weekends where he has showcased big time upside on the bump. The southpaw is listed at a sturdy 6-foot-2 and proves to have a legit case as a starter at the next level. He works with a simple delivery as he shows drop and drive actions while proving he can repeat himself as he fills up the zone. The delivery creates natural deception while throwing from a tough three-quarter slot. The fastball jumps out of hand showing arm-side run as he topped out at a PG career-best 92 mph during his outing. He casually sat right around in the upper-80s later in his outing and had pinpoint command of the heater all day. He also mixed in a slurvy breaking ball that with medium depth to it. It’s not an out pitch yet per se, but he does land it for strikes and with some clean-ups in his release point, you could see that pitch make a jump. The NC State commit had a casual day at the park as he struck out seven without giving up a single hit in three innings pitched. Evans will be a must follow this summer and spring as all signs point toward the MLB Draft next year.
