26. Connors State

A perennially-strong program out of Oklahoma and the general Midwest, Connors State looks to be very deep on the mound along with a good amount of team athleticism and team defense as far as team strengths go. Johnathan Pena is likely the team’s best hitter, he’ll be in the three-hole and playing right field with a lot on his shoulders. Payton McDowell will hit behind him and clean up from the first base slot, he brings a lot of power with him and should have numerous RBI opportunities with Pena and Grant Randall, one of their best players, who will hit leadoff and play third.

On the mound, Connors has a bunch of guys who don’t light up the radar but throw three pitches for strikes—something not to be undersold in the world of JUCO baseball—especially in an offensive region. Aaron Hosack, Lukas Berry, Mozart Duarte, and Keiten Asbill look like four of the main horses at Head Coach Perry Keith’s disposal, all are returners from a year ago aside from Berry, and all have high compete factors.

27. Harford

Harford will have a talented, powerful club this spring, both on the mound and with the bats—the latter of which has certainly become a calling card for the Maryland-based program. Reyce Curnane could be in line for JUCO All-American honors this summer with the numbers he’s capable of producing, as might center fielder Ajay Sczepkowski. Mason Hicks figures to be another main piece in the middle of the order and at third base, defensively; with Braydon Parr back in the middle infield and two-way Ethan Kiple getting at-bats as well.

Caleb Musco likely enters the season as the ace as a big, physical righty with power stuff, he’s joined in the rotation by Cameron Kalandros and newcomer Nick Hohenstein along with Connor Blantz, who had a loud fall. Left-hander Christopher Hamann has huge spin metrics with lots of projection on his frame and one of the better left-handed breakers the country.

28. Howard

A veteran offensive club with lots of new faces on the mound, the Howard Hawks should once again compete within the region. It’s a veteran, talented outfield group with Bernard Shivers, Broch Holmes, and Wilson Galvan all expected to be major pieces both offensively and defensively. Kebler Peralta gives them a talented defender at shortstop to pair with recent New Mexico commit Justin Wishkoski at second base, while Lilo Paxia has a shot at 20 bombs this spring.

On the mound, veteran lefty Ricky Apodaca is back, as is righty Nicco Cole, with Head Coach Michael Lopez expecting both to play big roles. Righty Cade Fontenot should play a big role right from the get go as a power sinker-slider type, with hard-throwing yet erratic righties Trey Nordmann and Colton Brown in the backend of the bullpen. The strikes are important here, as they are with all teams, but improved command from this pitching staff will go a long ways.
