31. Nick Loftin, ss, Baylor (JR)
R-R, 6-1/180, Corpus Christi, Texas
Previously Drafted: Never Drafted

Viewed as one of the safer players in this year’s class, Loftin is seemingly in play anywhere from roughly pick 20 on at this point. He’s performed well to date in his career, with a career OPS at Baylor in the high .800’s. He’s lauded for the potential of his hit tool, his ability to play shortstop at a solid level long term, his positional versatility, and his limited strikeout totals thus far in his career. If he’d shown more pop to date he’d likely be a top 15-20 pick in the class, and some evaluators, including this one, believe that Loftin has a fair bit more juice waiting to be unlocked in pro ball.
