2017 & 2019 PG West MLK Champions: NEB National assembled by Jeff Sullivan
Program History
“NEB was founded in 2008 with the vision to help players move on and play college baseball in a fun enthusiastic environment. Formed around local players
Kyle McKenzie (Tulane 2009) and
Sahil Bloom (Stanford 2009) and has grown year in and year out. Since then we have had over 700 players move on and play college baseball and over 100 players drafted. Some of our top draft choices include;
Brett Baty 12th overall 2019,
Grant Lavigne 42nd overall 2018,
Matt Tabor 83rd overall 2017,
Ben Bowden 43rd overall 2016, and
Ryan McKenna 4th round 2015. Our organization continues to grow each year with the help of our outstanding staff of Jeff Sullivan, Mike Abraham, and Matt Kruger.”

Historical Scouting Highlight
While no program wants to be playing in a consolation game at the end of a tournament as they’d rather be competing in the playoffs, the matchup between NEB and eXposure during the 2015 WWBA Underclass World Championships proved to be no typical consolation from a prospect standpoint. Just entering his sophomore year of high school, lefthander
Steve Hajjar took the mound for North East Baseball in his Perfect Game debut and had a collection of college recruiters behind the backstop as his name has made it around the inner baseball circles already. Opposite of Hajjar was the already committed Cole Wilcox who ran his fastball up to 90 mph in this look and now appears destined for the first round in the June’s MLB Draft. Wilcox wasn’t the only player with first round aspirations though in this game as NEB slugger
Grant Lavigne (42nd overall to the Rockies in 2018) provided a glimpse of things to come from an offensive standpoint, twice barreling up a Wilcox fastball to pick up a pair of hits on the day.
Bryce Reagan, who finished No. 102 nationally in the Perfect Game rankings, also had a nice day at the plate while performing well on defense, making several high-level plays in the game. This NEB roster ultimately placed 19 players at schools for the next level all around the country.

What are we looking forward to scouting during the summer of 2020?
Being a fellow Northeasterner and knowing how deep the program’s reach is into the Northeast, it’s always interesting to see which of their players will explode on the national scene once they travel down south. From
Grant Lavigne and
Brett Baty to
Matt Tabor and
Austin DeCarr, NEB always has a riser in the prep ranks who has helium heading into the draft of their senior year, while placing others as colleges where they flourish and ultimately get drafted. Whether it’s their national team which pulls in high-end talent from all over the country and always boasts a sleeping giant or their Northeast-based club, they are always a must-watch in any tournament setting and the 2020 season will be no different. Recent Maryland commit
Thomas Rogers has had plenty of buzz around his name and he could be one of the next big arms out of the Northeast while bats like athletic shortstop
Sam McNulty (Boston College) or physical backstop Matthew Garbowski (UCONN) look to lead the way offensively for North East Baseball this summer.
