Talen Pilz is a 2025 3B/RHP with a 6-2 180 lb. frame from Ann Arbor, MI who attends. Primary third baseman with an athletic build. Fields it cleanly out in front between his legs with two hands. Moved well laterally but definitely profiles better on the corner. Shorter arm action with a quick release from a standard 3/4 slot. Starts and stays low into his gather with a smooth transfer. Was 80 across the diamond and also ran a 7.40 sixty. Also pitched throwing from a high 3/4 slot with a quick arm. Smooth delivery with a medium sized leg raise to torso while coiling the front leg. Works down in line well. Fastball up to 82 with late ride through the zone. Went to a late biting curve with 10-4 shape and heavy sweeping action. Went to a change to mix up speeds as well. Right-handed hitter with physical presence in the box. Loads into his backside well and transfers the weight efficiently. Strong pull side contact with strength on impact. Power projects well more than anything. Good student.
