Jake Nelson is a 2027 MIF with a 5-11 172 lb. frame from Coronado, CA who attends Coronado. Features a medium-sized athletic build. Ran a 7.10 60-yd dash. In the INF, showed quality actions. Light feet that move to and through the baseball well to both sides. Strong/sure glove actions. Some stiffness to the AA that works with medium length out the glove and with avg. strength to release with 50/50 accuracy. At the plate, works from a narrow base and initiates early with a smaller lift. Creates some early side tilt with torso and head. Shows an uphill bat path where he backspun several hard fly balls deep into the OF. Pull-side oriented approach/intent throughout his BP round. Showed flashes of above avg. bat speed and impact for his level.
