James Bortnick is a 2029 LHP/1B with a 5-11 170 lb. frame from Sussex, NJ who attends Paramus Catholic. Has some size for his age to go with some present strength to build on. Works from the stretch from the far third base side of the rubber with a high leg raise start, short stride down the mound with a 3/4's arm slot, has some deception to his mechanics. Fastball topped out at 77 mph with sinking action present. SL registered at 1507 rpm. From 1B, showcased sound footwork around the bag with reliable glove work.
