Rhys Jones is a 2029 LHP/1B/OF with a 5-11 165 lb. frame from Mc Lean, VA who attends Langley. Medium build with some lower half size and strength potential. Works exclusively from the stretch with a high leg raise over the rubber and a high 3/4's arm slot. Fastball topped out at 80 mph, tended to work up in the zone and got above barrels, velocity played up, got some running action when working down. Curveball showed good 1/7 depth and some feel for landing and locating it. Sequences his pitches well and throws strikes to weak contact. 7.86 runner in the sixty. Secondary outfielder on defense, waits back on the ball and fields the ball off to the side, max effort thrower from a 3/4's arm slot. Left handed hitter, sets up in a wide base with a toe tap trigger and simple stride into contact, has a short hands drive swing, will pull off his front side at times, contact to all fields. Very good student.
