Jimmy Dobbs is a 2026 C/RHP/1B with a 5-11 185 lb. frame from Fairfield, CT who attends Fairfield Warde. Medium, broader frame with some present lower half strength and plenty of time to physically mature. Primary catcher that receives from an exaggerated side-saddle stance with clean glove actions and a direct mid-line transfer. Works uphill into throwing motion and gains minimal ground towards his target. Recorded fairly accurate throws up to 67 mph from behind the plate during drills. Right-handed hitter that hits from a balanced, even stance with a high hand set, high back elbow and hanging leg lift trigger. Pullside approach with some length to his swing, flashes good feel for the barrel and strength at impact. Displayed consistent line drive impact and heaviness to his barrel. Uses lower half strength to his advantage and creates leverage out in front. Will continue to improve with subtle refinements of his swing and additional strength. Named to the 2022 New York Indoor Showcase Top Prospect List.
